Peat Designs

Peat Design is a very avant-garde, trendy and unique product line designed for interior decoration of residential and commercial buildings. The products consist of bricks and panels made out of dry peat, which, attached to existing interior walls, create a very warm, earthy and contemporary look and feeling. We offer a variety of interior design products made entirely out of peat or out of peat combined with other materials. You may choose some of the standard off the shelf designs that we offer or we can produce as per your custom design orders.

What Peat Is

Peat is an innovative yet ancient material that has many uses for contemporary design. It began to form about ten thousand years ago. Our peat is carefully extracted from the ground and dried with care to fully reveal its unique texture and appearance. Hermetically sealed below the ground, peat is a sterile material containing no micro-organisms. It does not rot in contact with water.

Interior Design

Our interior design materials and products are totally unique in the world. It is entirely our innovation and no other company provides similar products.

Great care is taken to select the appropriate peat during the cutting process to ensure the beauty of the marbling and that subtle tones are revealed. The earthy shades of peat together with its texture molded over thousands of years combine in a timeless aesthetic. Its marbled patterns are unique to each peat product.

Another application of our peat products is in the furniture industry, where panels can be applied on the structure of the furniture or different shapes can be crafted out of the dried material.

Our peat blocks come in all different forms and sizes. They have broad application and can be used for interior and garden design, floristry or other creative, nature-related purposes. It is very easy to use and its unique structure lends itself to all sorts of experimentation; it is most amenable to sawing, cutting, gluing, planning, grinding and painting.

Being a hard but light material, peat allows for various processing techniques without the need for special skills or instruments in order to shape it. Peat is highly compatible with, and complimentary to, just about any other type of material. Peat absorbs water wonderfully and offers a great micro-environment in which to keep plants.
